This isn't a restaurant, it's like a Hayao Miyazaki fairy tale world brought to life![2] The whole place is built on a massive rock formation, with man-made waterfalls and streams running through it, and the city view of Wonogiri right below... The air was filled with the smell of damp grass, you could really just sit and Nongkrong all afternoon, it's so healing. You don't even need to find the right angle for photos, every shot is a masterpiece. I felt like I had stumbled into some kind of mythical wonderland.
As for the taste, it's a bit like opening a blind box...
I mean, the ambiance and service are absolutely top-notch. The guys there were incredibly friendly, they even ran over to give us an umbrella when it started raining[3], that level of service is really top!
Food-wise, I took some advice and ordered their signature Iga Bakar (grilled ribs)[4], which was surprisingly tender, and the sauce was very flavorful, delicious! My companion ordered the Udang Goreng Telur Asin (fried shrimp with salted egg yolk)[5], which was also super crispy, truly mantap!
But! To be honest, the quality control here seems a bit inconsistent. I got lucky this time, but the table next to us was complaining that their rice wasn't fresh and the coffee was just average[6]. - Timing: It can be a bit hot in the afternoon, so I recommend arriving around 4 or 5 PM when it starts to cool down, and you can also catch a gorgeous sunset.
- Price: It's considered mid-to-high range for the area, but you're paying for the view, after all. The set menu for two that we ordered was 135k Indonesian Rupiah[8], and the portion was generous, more than enough for us.
