Just arrived at the entrance of MILU, to be honest, it was a bit unremarkable, I almost thought I went to the wrong place. But as soon as you step inside, Anjay! It's a completely different world. 🤯

A super spacious open area, directly connected to endless rice fields, the Bali breeze just flows right through, it's so Chill[1]! The entire restaurant is a huge green paradise, with wooden furniture and natural light combined, it feels like you could just sit here and zone out for an entire afternoon. I finally understand why so many veteran fans of Nook are coming to check out this sister store[2].

We ordered a few dishes, the portions are really generous, even two girls with small appetites could share one dish[3]. Avocado Toast[4] is simple and delicious, and the ripeness is just right; on a hot day, a Spicy Chicken Salad[5] is a lifesaver, super fresh and refreshing! My friend's Ultimate Burger[6] is also very substantial, meat-lovers will be very satisfied.

However, to be honest, this place isn't without its flaws. When it's busy during meal times, the staff are genuinely overwhelmed, getting someone's attention basically relies on luck and a loud voice[7], so you need a bit of patience. Also, the food's taste is a bit like opening a blind box. Western-style Brunch dishes are generally safe bets, but some dishes, like the Indonesian fried rice and crispy whole fish that I've heard people complain about, are a bit hard to describe, the taste is too bland[8], to the point where you can forgive it for the sake of the ambiance.

Strongly recommend riding your scooter🛵! Car parking spaces are very limited, although there's valet parking service[9], but you know how the roads in Canggu are, a scooter is still the most convenient.

If you're going for the ambiance and Brunch, then you basically can't go wrong. The prices are also reasonable, a Big Brekky is less than 100k, the value for money is good. But if you're looking for authentic Indonesian food, it's recommended to lower your expectations a bit.

Coming with friends to Nongkrong, couples on a date, or bringing your laptop to work are all great options, the tables are far apart, so there's private space. Friends with kids can also come, they even have a small kids' area[10], it's simply a liberation for parents' hands!
