A friend who knows the South Jakarta scene recommended this Afterhour in Blok M, saying the atmosphere is great. To be honest, it's rare to find a pool hall in Jakarta that isn't too smoky and has strong AC, so this place was a pleasant surprise.
The vibe was right as soon as I walked in. The lighting was just right, the music wasn't so loud that you couldn't hear your friends talk, and most importantly, the AC was seriously cold! Plus, the smoke smell was well-controlled, a total godsend for someone with rhinitis. The pool tables and balls were all polished to a shine, you can tell they've been well-maintained[1].
