Friends, I'm speechless! To eat the legendary Nasi Uduk Bu Amah, I almost got lost in the small alleys of West Jakarta. I felt like if me and the motorcycle bro were even a little bit chubbier, we'd get stuck.
After finally finding my way to the shop, it was just a super inconspicuous little window, with not even a place to dine in. But the moment that aroma of coconut rice wafted out, I instantly felt the whole hassle was worth it!
Their Nasi Uduk[2] rice is truly Mantap, the coconut milk flavor is super rich, with a savory base, and it's topped with a generous amount of fried shallots, maxing out the textural layers. The portion size is also quite generous, even for a big guy like me, I was very satisfied[3].
The main event is the Ayam Goreng[4], which uses Ayam Kampung (free-range chicken), so the meat is a bit chewier. Some friends might find it a bit tough, but I personally quite like this kind of texture.
