Whenever friends visit Bandar Lampung and ask me where to take their families to eat, I always get a bit of a headache. Until I discovered this place, Kinar Resto!
Don't frown just because you hear it's in the suburbs. Follow your GPS, and you'll find it's a whole different world. The whole restaurant is ridiculously huge, and the parking lot is massive too, practically tailor-made for large gatherings. Whether it's a big family or a company team-building event, parking is definitely not a problem.
Flavor and Ambiance, Both On Point
The ambiance has that special chill vibe typical of Indonesian family restaurants; it's clean, spacious, and has a very calm atmosphere[1]. You can choose an indoor private room, or opt for the more local-style lesehan (sitting on the floor). It's incredibly comfortable for a large group to come and Nongkrong.
The dishes are authentic Indonesian flavors. We ordered a whole table of food, and a few things we ordered without knowing what they were turned out to be absolutely Mantap[2]!
I have to give a special shout-out to two dishes:
To be honest, there's a big swimming pool in their backyard, but it looks a bit old and in disrepair. I guess it used to be a highlight. Now, it's fine as a backdrop for photos, but don't even think about going for a swim, haha.
- 1. Oxtail Soup[3]: The broth is rich and savory, the beef is stewed until it's tender and flavorful, and it warms you up completely.
- 2. Spicy Fried Tofu (Tahu Cagar)[4]: Fans of intense flavors, you have to try this! Crispy fried tofu, stir-fried with garlic and the local "devil's chili," Anjay! That spiciness is seriously addictive. You'll be sweating while frantically stuffing it into your mouth, it's so satisfying!

All in all, if you're in Bandar Lampung and need a place for a family gathering or a meal with a big group of friends, this is definitely an option worth considering. It's spacious, the food is delicious and affordable, and the service is great. What more could you ask for?
- Order the set menus! If you come with a group of three or four, just order from their set menu[5], the value for money is off the charts. The four of us ordered a set menu and it only cost about 230,000 Indonesian Rupiah[6], which is less than 60k per person. We ate until we were stuffed.
- Super comprehensive payment options, they accept cash, debit cards, and QRIS[7], which is super friendly for lazy people like us who don't like to carry cash.
- Kudos to the staff for their honesty! What actually moved me the most about this place was the service. The staff's attitude is super nice, and I heard from a local friend that their staff is exceptionally honest. A customer once left a tablet at the restaurant, and they kept it safe and returned it immediately[8]. For that alone, they deserve a huge thumbs-up!
