Girls, who gets it! I was originally planning to go clubbing with friends at the new Mantra in PIK 2, but I ended up being completely won over by their food. I swear, before I went, I had absolutely zero expectations for the food at a club/lounge. I thought if it could just fill my stomach, that would be a win. But... Anjay, I was so wrong.
The moment I walked in, I was blown away by the scene: a huge, two-story high-ceiling space, and that massive LED screen extending down from the ceiling. The visual effects were maxed out[1]. The sound system was also Mantap, and the music taste was on point, not that cheesy, low-quality rave music. The atmosphere was super high, and it felt like all the coolest young people in Jakarta come here to Nongkrong. The waiters and waitresses were also super friendly and enthusiastic, smiling the whole time and responding super quickly[2]—I have to give them props for that.
Back to the food, we randomly ordered a few things and, surprisingly, didn't hit any duds. That Butter Milk Burger[3] is a must-order! The patty was juicy, and the sauce was perfectly balanced—definitely not your typical, carelessly made fast-food stuff. My friend's Wagyu Fried Rice[4] was also devoured in seconds. The cocktails looked as good as they tasted. I tried the Mantralicious[5]; it was fruity and rich but not too sweet, perfect for girls.
Of course, it wasn't perfect. As usual, let's get real for a second. We were initially seated in the sofa area on the side, and found that the carpeted wall there was saturated with the smell of smoke, which was a bit overwhelming. If you're sensitive to the smell of smoke, this might detract from your experience[6]. As for the price, it's in the mid-to-high range, so get your wallet ready.
