Honestly, I'd heard a lot about this place, Posin, even before coming to Semarang, after all, it used to be the legendary old shop, Imperial Bakery[1], and now it's been upgraded into a super impressive building. It has over two thousand reviews on Google with a 4.8 rating[2], so I thought there was no way it could go wrong, right? But then... after I took a trip to the restroom, I almost had a mental breakdown on the spot... Anjay! The contrast is just on another level 😵💫
But to be fair, aside from that "cursed" toilet, the rest of the experience was pretty Mantap. The space is genuinely huge and stylishly decorated. The first floor is a bakery with an amazing aroma, and the second floor has beautifully decorated private rooms, super suitable for family dinners or small gatherings with friends[3]. You don't have to worry about crowds at all; you can comfortably Chill for an entire afternoon.
There were a lot of us, so we ordered a variety of dishes. I really have to praise the Dory Fish[4]; it was so tender it melted in my mouth, no exaggeration! The Mutton Fried Rice[5] was also quite good, with a great wok-fried aroma. Of course, we can't forget their signature item—the Signature Buns, Pao[6]! I tried the red bean and mung bean fillings.
