It's a completely different world from the super creamy, wet salted egg sauces you find elsewhere! Theirs is the dry, fragrant type. The salted egg yolk is evenly"welded" onto each piece of calamari, and you can even taste the grainy texture. It's savory and fragrant with a hint of spiciness—so addictive! The best part is the calamari; it's fried until the outside is crispy, but the inside is still chewy and tender. I purposely let it sit for a while, and it was surprisingly still crispy!
I also tried the new Nasgortong[3] while I was at it, which is the salted egg calamari with fried rice. The fried rice has that Chinese-style oriental flavor, savory with a slight kick, and it was pretty good too.

But to be fair, I still have a few complaints. The portion of rice is really a bit small[4]; although they give you a generous amount of calamari, guys with big appetites might not find it satisfying enough. As for the price, it's about 50-57k Indonesian Rupiah[5] per portion, which isn't cheap for a market snack—it's almost at mall prices. But for this flavor, I think it's worth going for!
Oh, right, a friend told me that when they went a second time, it didn't taste as amazing as the first[6], so maybe the quality is a bit inconsistent? My experience this time was a perfect 10, so I hope the owner can maintain the standard!
