Every time I pass by this Ropang Plus Plus in Pluit, it's like a warzone—packed with people and shrouded in smoke, which made me question my existence for a moment: Isn't it just a place to eat instant noodles?! Anjay! Today, I finally couldn't resist and dragged a friend in with me, wanting to see what all the young people in Jakarta are going crazy for. 😂

After sitting down, I took a look around. It's mostly students and young people who just got off work. The whole place is basically a massive Nongkrong scene, noisy and chaotic, but bustling with a lively atmosphere.[1] We ordered a few of their signature dishes without much thought:

- Indomie Goreng Plus Plus Salted Egg[2]: The best dish of the night! A must-order! The instant noodles are coated in a rich salted egg sauce, and every bite is super satisfying. It's nothing like that flashy, cheap instant food vibe; it's an elevated form of happy carbs!
- Tahu Cabe Garam (Salt and Pepper Tofu)[3]: This one was a pleasant surprise! The outside is fried to a perfect crisp, while the inside is incredibly tender. Paired with chili and salt, you can't stop eating them one after another. A must-have snack for drinks and conversation.
- Sate Taichan[4]: The chicken skewers are very tender and juicy, not dry and tough at all. Perfect to have with a main dish.
But! There are some hard truths I have to share…
First off, the serving speed is really a matter of luck. When we went, it was super crowded, and we waited almost an hour for our noodles. We were so hungry we almost started chewing on the table.[5] Secondly, while the prices don't seem expensive individually, the portions are quite small[6], so it's easy to go over your budget as you keep ordering. So, take it easy, everyone.
The biggest complaint: There's no non-smoking area![7] Smoking is allowed everywhere. For friends who are sensitive to smoke or have kids with them, I'd advise you to skip this place. Seriously, don't come here to suffer.
