Honestly, every time I hear someone hyping up"the best in Jakarta," my eyes nearly roll into the back of my head. But this time, at this little shop in Panglima Polim called `betterchocolatethannever`, I admit, I was proven wrong.

This place looks really unassuming from the outside, just a plain white storefront. If it weren't for its high 4.9 score on Google, I probably would have just walked right past it. But the moment I pushed the door open, the whole world went quiet. High, arched ceilings, a minimalist all-white design, sunlight streaming in from the high windows, and the air filled with the aroma of cocoa—the vibe was just perfect. It's so perfect for spending an afternoon here to Nongkrong with your besties, or bringing a laptop to get some work done on your own.

We didn't pick any duds and went straight for the signature items:

• Rich Chocolate Ice Cream[1]: Anjay! This ice cream is criminally rich! The texture is incredibly smooth, like eating a piece of melting nama chocolate. The key is, it perfectly balances sweetness and bitterness[2], and has that sophisticated quality that means you can finish a whole cup without feeling overwhelmed.
