I've been drinking a bit too much lately and was looking for a place to just Nongkrong and play a few rounds of pool with friends. A friend who knows the South Jakarta scene recommended this Afterhour in Blok M, saying the atmosphere is great. To be honest, it's rare to find a pool hall in Jakarta that isn't too smoky and has strong AC, so this place was a pleasant surprise.
The vibe was right as soon as I walked in. The lighting was just right, the music wasn't so loud that you couldn't hear your friends talk, and most importantly, the AC was seriously cold! Plus, the smoke smell was well-controlled, a total godsend for someone with rhinitis. The pool tables and balls were all polished to a shine, you can tell they've been well-maintained[1]. Playing felt smooth, absolutely Mantap! The price is by the minute, 2,000 IDR per minute[2]. A bit pricey, but for this environment, I think it's acceptable.

The staff would randomly go serve customers who arrived after us, leaving us hanging[3]. Also, that booking system is just for show.
