Reasons to Love It: One-Stop Chill to the Max
No one would object to calling it the best place in South Jakarta to spend a whole day, right?
First off, the vibe is on point. The whole mall has a great sense of space, the lighting is fantastic, and it's very comfortable to walk around in. What really makes it stand out are the art pieces hidden in various corners, from KAWS to Yayoi Kusama[2]. You can discover new surprises every time you visit, making it feel less like shopping in a mall and more like wandering through a semi-art gallery. Perfect for photo ops!
The brand selection is also super comprehensive. - 1. Maze-like Layout: Anjay! This mall is seriously huge, and the layout is extremely unfriendly to anyone who's bad with directions[6]. If you have a poor sense of direction, I suggest keeping a map open on your phone the whole time, otherwise, trying to find a store will make you walk until you question your existence.
- 2. "Anti-human" Seating Areas: This is my biggest complaint! Legs turning to jelly from all the walking and want to find a place to sit for a bit? Sorry, you'll basically find no public seating outside of the restaurants. Last time, I saw an elderly person so tired they had to rest by leaning against a wall in the hallway, which was really a bit heartbreaking[7]. It's so unfriendly to families with the elderly and children.
- 3. Food Court Lottery: The restaurants upstairs are generally safe bets, but the quality of the Food Court downstairs is a bit hit-or-miss. I once had a cold pork kway teow, the texture was just awful, and the experience instantly hit rock bottom[8].
