Just got back from Pekanbaru, and I can't wait to roast this Celebrity Cafe & Resto with you all. Just looking at the pictures on social media, doesn't it look super luxurious, with a Mantap vibe, where any random shot could be a photo of a lifetime? If you actually believed that, it would be so Anjay... reality will give you a resounding slap in the face.
Luxury Under a Filter, a Sauna in Reality
I swear, I was totally tricked by those gorgeous interior design photos. The moment I walked in, a wave of heat hit me in the face, and I was completely dumbfounded. How is this a place to Chill? It's more like a free sauna! The air conditioners and fans were basically just for decoration. You could break a sweat just sitting still, and my makeup completely melted off. [1] Where's the promised luxury? It was all shattered by the crowd and the stuffy heat. Even the prayer room was small and stuffy, making for a terrible experience.
Epically Disastrous Service and "Mini" Meals
Don't expect to have a good Nongkrong here. We booked in advance for an Iftar dinner (Bukber), thinking it would be foolproof. And the result? The waiters and waitresses were running all over the place but not serving any food. It felt like the team had zero training. They kept coming back to ask what we ordered. Bro, where's your system? The moment the food was served, I was speechless again. The set meal, priced at 35k, had a portion so small it was heartbreaking. The rice was just a tiny pinch, felt about the same as a 12k fast-food chicken rice from a street stall. [3] The chicken also tasted unremarkable, just the very so-so kind. [4] The most outrageous part was, only when we were paying the bill did we find out that an 11% tax was added to everything. Not a single word was mentioned about this during booking!
