But it was so hot... the AC was just for show, eating BBQ felt like being in a sauna, Anjay![1] I sat down ready to feast, but one look at the food station and my heart sank. Where were the mountains of meat from the ads? The reality was a completely empty freezer, like it was having a spiritual communion with the "soul of the meat". After a long wait, a few plates finally came out, but the amount of meat on each was pitifully small. I feel like the exercise from walking back and forth to get meat burned more calories than I ate.[2]
Let's talk about the taste, which is also hard to describe. Some of the meat was marinated without any flavor and was even a bit gamey[3]. The side dishes, like the risol, were so hard they could be used as a weapon, and the watermelon juice was as bland as water...
