The bright red chilies were roasted on the scorching hot plate, releasing a charred aroma. That pungent and overpowering scent was so captivating, it almost stole my soul. I picked up a piece of crispy fried chicken, dipped it generously, and the first bite was just Mantap! It was so spicy my scalp tingled, but I couldn't stop eating one bite after another.
My friend who came with me ordered the spiciest green chili Gajja, and seeing her panting and chugging water told me just how intense it was 🥵. For those who can't handle spice, you can choose the sweet tomato-flavored Bakka, which is much milder.
Halfway through, when I felt like I was about to breathe fire, my savior arrived! A huge glass of Es Lidah Buaya & Timun Serut[2] is the ultimate antidote for the spiciness.
