Anjay, yesterday I went to eat in Blok M, South Jakarta's"Little Tokyo," and I almost thought my passport had expired and I forgot to renew it... Walking into this izakaya called Tori Hachi, a table of older guys were clinking glasses on the left, a table of young ladies were chatting on the right, and EVERYONE! WAS! SPEAKING! JAPANESE![1] The waiter started speaking fluent Japanese, and I was completely stunned. The atmosphere is just so on point!

Sitting at the counter and watching the chef grill skewers is pure enjoyment. The ventilation system is super effective, so you don't leave smelling like smoke at all[2].
