My legs were about to break from shopping at Pondok Indah Mall, and I just wanted to find a place to grab a cold drink to keep me going. I saw this Share Tea and thought,"It's an old brand, it can't be bad, right?" But the ordering process left me totally confused... Anjay!
The guy told me with a straight face that they only have large cups. I pointed to the stack of medium-sized cups next to him, but he just shook his head... I really don't get this move 🤷♀️.
The taste is on point, but there are plenty of things to complain about
Since I was already here, I decided to try their signature drink. I ordered the Avocado Cocoa Rocksalt Cheese[1]. When I got it, the layer of cocoa rocksalt cheese foam on top was really thick. I took a big sip, and it had that rich, salty-sweet flavor with a hint of bitterness from the cocoa, Mantap! I give this cheese foam high marks.
But! When I got to the avocado smoothie underneath, emmm... how should I put it? It tasted a bit like the artificial syrup flavor from candies I had as a kid[2], not like pure, fresh fruit. It was also quite sweet overall, so people with a sweet tooth might love it.
Don't expect to Nongkrong here, though. There are only a few small seats[3], so basically, everyone gets their drinks to-go and sips while they shop.
To sum it up: A rather underwhelming experience
Honestly, the whole experience felt very"fast-food." The staff had no expression, didn't greet or recommend anything[4], and just answered what was asked. The price of 33K[5] for a large cup is pretty normal for a mall, but... you know, you're just paying for the brand. Don't have high expectations for the service or the environment.
