A traditional Warkop gets a major glow-up! Discover Warkop BOIS in Central Jakarta, a new hangout spot turning heads with its stunningly minimalist and Instagrammable facade. Designed by an architecture studio, this spot ditches the usual vibe for clean lines and sharp aesthetics, making it a standout in its neighborhood. It’s poised to be the next go-to sanctuary for young people to hang out and snap amazing photos, perfect for design lovers and your social media feed.
I've passed through Kemayoran in Central Jakarta countless times, but I never would have thought that on a small residential street like this (Jl. Remaja), I'd stumble upon such an "unconventional" Warkop. 🛵
At first glance, I thought it was a new design studio or a concept store. The lines are clean and sharp, and when you put it next to the old houses around it, it totally stands out from the crowd, Anjay! It's a completely different vibe from the greasy Warkops we're used to.
Although it goes by the name Warkop, the vibe is totally an upgraded Nongkrong sanctuary made for us young people! Can you imagine? In the future, just hanging out at a place like this, ordering a Kopi Susu, and just Chill-ing with friends from afternoon till dark—that would be so Mantap!
I looked it up online, and it actually has a perfect 5.0 score on Google Maps, but when I took a closer look... yikes, there's only 1 review. 😅 We'll have to wait until it opens and people check it out for themselves to know how inflated that is. So don't rush in blindly; the food and service are still a total mystery.
If you're an architecture/design enthusiast, or just looking for a unique photo backdrop, then you should definitely save this spot.
I'm guessing the best time to shoot the exterior is around 3 or 4 PM when the lighting is best, and then head inside to Nongkrong until the evening. That should give you the best experience. Once it officially opens, I'll go back for a second visit to check it out!
Waiting for some brave souls to go try it out and report back in the comments on how it is! 🤙
