Every time I want to find a place to Nongkrong in Pluit, it's a headache when there's a big group of people. The places are either too small, or too noisy to chat. A couple of days ago, a friend dragged me to this place, Faq Q Bar, Anjay! I was shocked the moment I walked in, the space is huge! More than ten pool tables were lined up, it's practically a paradise for pool lovers.
A Bar That Can Fit an Entire Company
The whole venue is divided into several areas. On one side is the lively pool area, and on the other is the lounge area where you can sink into the sofas and Chill, without disturbing each other. Even though it's a smoking area, the ventilation is pretty good, the smell of smoke isn't strong, that's definitely Mantap! Since there were a lot of us, we just went ahead and ordered all their signature dishes.
When the German Pork Knuckle[1] arrived, the skin was roasted to a perfect crisp, while the meat inside was still tender. Recommended! The Grassfed Tenderloin Steak[2] my friend ordered was also on point, cooked to just the right doneness, the meat quality was really good. If you want something to fill your stomach, you can get the Meaty Pizza[3]. It's thin-crust and has a great chewy texture, better than many dedicated pizza places. I saw there's also a King Prawn Laksa[4] on the menu, planning to try it next time.
Some Honest Thoughts (Not All Hype)
But to be fair, I have to point out the downsides. The prices aren't cheap, it's in the mid-to-high range[5], so you should be aware of that before ordering. Also, there happened to be a live band the day we went. The atmosphere was hype, but it was so loud that you basically had to shout to talk[6], so girls who want to have a quiet chat should probably avoid that time slot. Oh, right, I personally think you can pass on the snack platter. It was pretty mediocre[7]; it's better to just order the main courses.
