Sunter has been getting more and more competitive lately. I've seen this place, Palmers, a few times at mall bazaars before, and they finally opened a physical store, so I had to come and Nongkrong.
The shop isn't big but it's quite cozy, the vibe is Cozy, the Wi-Fi is on point, and almost every seat has a power outlet[1]. At first glance, it seemed tailor-made for digital nomads like us who carry our laptops everywhere! But after sitting down and ordering, I realized things weren't that simple...
Flavor: A Fine Line Between Heaven and Hell
After all, they started out as a Bakery, so bread is their foundation. Their signature Mochi Bread (Roti Mochi)[2] is genuinely good, soft, with a chewy and non-sticky filling. The Sourdough Cranberry[3] is not bad either; health-conscious people would probably love it.
I didn't have high hopes for the main courses at a cafe, but I was blown away by the bowl of Soto Mie[4]! The broth was incredibly rich, a truly authentic Indonesian flavor, Mantap! I felt all warm and cozy after finishing the bowl.
BUT! The bad points were just as shocking. That matcha latte, which they claimed was ceremonial grade, was super watery[5]. It felt like the powder wasn't mixed properly and was just diluted with some milk—very unprofessional. The most outrageous thing was, I personally saw a pregnant lady at the next table who ordered their special fried rice, and the accompanying chicken satay skewers were raw! Anjay! She went to complain, and the staff didn't even react much. This level of quality control and attitude is genuinely scary[6].

Honestly, if the atmosphere wasn't so Chill, I might have flipped the table. The serving speed could go down in history; I've been there three times, and it got slower each time, leaving me starving[7].
