Every time I plan to meet up with friends in downtown Jakarta, the biggest headaches are the traffic and figuring out where to Nongkrong ☕️. But honestly, once I'm inside Grand Indonesia, the outside world just melts away.
To be honest, I was totally overwhelmed the first time I came here; this mall is just so huge! It's divided into East and West wings, and it feels like you could easily spend a whole day just wandering around. But because it's so big, it manages to cram in shopping, dining, art, and even a cinema, making it both a "hell" and a heaven for indecisive people.

What I love most is its interior design. Some floors are designed to look like European streetscapes, and you can find any corner to take epic photos that look like you're in Europe. It's truly Mantap[1]! The lighting is bright, the space feels open, and even just coming in to enjoy the AC and window shop feels very Chill.
The biggest surprise for me was discovering that the mall is hiding a cultural gallery called ‘Galeri Indonesia Kaya’[2]. It showcases Indonesian culture through various interactive installations. When you're tired of shopping, you can pop in for a look and instantly feel more cultured. Want to buy some stylish souvenirs? Head to ‘Alun Alun Indonesia’ on the 3rd floor. The handicrafts and local specialty items there are super exquisite.
The food options are so numerous it's almost criminal. From high-end restaurants to down-to-earth food courts, you can find almost any flavor you're craving here[3]. Oh, and by the way, the CGV cinema here is said to be one of the largest in the world[4], Anjay! I definitely have to come back and experience what it's like to watch a movie lying down.

Of course, it's not perfect. As one of Jakarta's top malls, the prices are indeed a tad more expensive than outside, since it's positioned as mid-to-high end. You've gotta watch your wallet[5].
