150k Halal Steak, 4.8 on Google... a catfish?

Every time friends come to East Jakarta to Nongkrong with me, they complain there aren't any decent Western restaurants around here. I finally dug up a halal steakhouse hidden on the second floor, STEAKMENT. I saw its Google rating was a super high 4.8, so I dragged a friend along to test the waters.

• Striploin Steak: The one my friend ordered was a bit... emmm... a miss. The meat was on the tougher side and not juicy enough[4], making it a bit of a chore to chew.
• Fettuccine Carbonara with Diced Beef: The cream sauce was okay, but the noodles themselves were a bit too thick, and the diced beef in it was also very chewy[5]. If you prefer a softer texture, you can skip this one.

Alright, enough praise, time for some complaints. The most speechless moment for me was when they brought out my salad, and the amount of beef was way less than what was shown in the menu picture! When I asked the staff, they just confidently said the menu picture is for aesthetic purposes... Anjay, I was speechless at that move.

Overall, it's a place with very clear pros and cons. If you plan to go, keep these tips in mind:

• The Art of Ordering: If you're ordering steak blindly, you can't go wrong with the Picanha. The mushroom soup is a must-order! As for other cuts of steak and the pasta... well, it's a matter of luck.
• Want to try the Tomahawk?: The Tomahawk steak needs to be pre-ordered[7], so don't just show up, or you'll have made a wasted trip.
• Serving Speed: Be prepared, bigger cuts like the T-bone might take quite a while[8]. Don't go when you're already starving.
• A Note for Certain Visitors: The restaurant is on the second floor, and there's no elevator[9]! You should think twice if you're bringing elderly people, children, or friends with mobility issues.
• Parking: There aren't many parking spots out front[10]; it's mostly street parking, so friends who are driving are advised to go early to grab a spot.
