To be honest, when I first heard this was a startup project by Andalas University (UNAND) alumni with school funding, I didn't have high expectations at first… After all, it's a student cafe, you know what I mean. But! I was totally proven wrong💥, this place has now become my life-saving spot in Padang.
The vibe in the shop is awesome, and it's not one of those noisy, chaotic places at all. The indoor air conditioning is strong, it's fully equipped with power outlets and WiFi, and it's so quiet that my productivity for coding or writing papers doubles💻. If you want to Nongkrong and chat with friends, you can go straight to the outdoor smoking area, so you don't disturb each other. This zoned layout is simply Mantap![1]
Now for the main event, the coffee! As one of the first shops in Padang to get serious about coffee, their quality is no joke[2]. I tried their signature Kopi Radjo Solok[3], and the flavor was honestly so much better than some of the ridiculously expensive, overhyped coffees I've had in Jakarta. The Matcha[4] my friend ordered was also a safe bet, rich and smooth. The prices are so friendly you could cry, with most items under 20,000 Rupiah[5]. It's definitely a happy place for students!
But, to be fair, I do have a small complaint. If you want to order food, you'll need a bit more patience, because everything is made to order, so it can be a bit slow[6]. Also, I peeked at the Affogato on the next table, and it felt like they were a bit stingy with the ice cream[7]… Anjay, is the owner listening! What's the harm in adding another scoop!
