The cafe scene in Pahoman, Lampung is super competitive, but lately, my friends and I have a new favorite spot to Nongkrong, and surprisingly, it's a place with a somewhat old-fashioned name, "Toko Mansure" (Toko means "shop" in Indonesian 😂).
Don't laugh, once you go inside, you'll know what Mantap is all about!
Chill for an afternoon without hurting your wallet
The moment you step inside, it's nothing like the small convenience store you'd imagine. It has a modern design, both the indoor and outdoor areas are clean and comfortable, the vibe is amazing, and it's super photogenic.[1] The key is, it's not noisy even when it's crowded, so you can have a quiet chat with friends or just spend an afternoon by yourself.
I personally love the butterscotch-flavored coffee called "Enggal"[2], the taste is incredible—sweet and smooth! My friend's order, the signature "Kopi Mansure"[3], is also great. It has honey, so the coffee flavor isn't too strong, perfect for friends who can't handle bitter drinks. If you're not a coffee drinker, you can try the highly recommended "Cheesecake milk"[4], which I hear is a hidden gem.
As for food, the menu has tons of options, from authentic Indonesian snacks to Western dishes. We ordered a bunch of Cireng and Tempe Mendoan, and they all tasted very authentic.[5]
Here's the main point, the rice portions for their main courses are truly Jumbo![6] For my friends with smaller appetites, promise me you'll either order a half portion or share between two people, otherwise you'll seriously have enough leftovers to take home for three more meals!

Although I really like it, I have to be honest about a few things. You might be a bit confused on your first visit because you have to go to the cashier to order yourself. No one seats you or gives you a menu[7]. During peak hours, the food service can be a bit slow, so you'll need some patience. Also, some of the outdoor seats don't have backrests, so if you plan to sit for a long time, your butt might protest a little.[8]
