Honestly, I specifically went to Bukittinggi in West Sumatra this time to get some peace and quiet, so I wasn't expecting much from the coffee. But after climbing to the top of the hill, I was completely blown away by this place called Mouara. This isn't just a coffee shop, it's practically a secret garden on a hilltop! 🌳

I was captivated the moment I walked in. The interior has a very cozy, homey style that makes you want to curl up on the sofa all afternoon. But the real star is the outdoor area! Surrounded by greenery with an unbelievably open view, it feels like you're having coffee in a secret garden[1]. The sunset that evening was absolutely stunning; the colors of the sky changed every minute. Although the wind on the hilltop was a bit “ga nyantai” (restless 😂), it was totally worth it for this view![2]
Of course, a great view isn't enough—the coffee is the soul. I was first won over by their signature Fruity Americano[3]; the peach flavor is so refreshing! It's not that cheap syrup flavor at all. The coffee's bitterness and acidity are perfectly balanced with the fruitiness, so even friends who don't drink coffee often will love it.
