Every time I come out of the Blok M MRT station, I'm always drawn to that eye-catching terracotta-colored little building, and today, I finally got to check out THE FULL YOLK. Seriously, this location is a prime spot handed to them on a silver platter[1], just a few steps from the MRT exit, which is so friendly for lazy people like us!
As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with a simple and comfortable vibe. The AC is blasting, instantly separating you from Jakarta's scorching heat. I got straight to the point and ordered their insanely popular signature osmanthus latte, B-side Bloom[2]. The first sip made my eyes light up! The fragrance of osmanthus mixed with the sweetness of palm sugar—it's definitely the real deal. But it was a little too sweet for me; next time, I'll have to remember to tell the barista"less sugar."
My friend's Signature Sandwich[3] was also a hit. The fried chicken cutlet was super juicy, paired with a rich mentaiko sauce, and one bite was incredibly satisfying. Table manners? What are those? As long as it's delicious, that's all that matters! We also ordered a Banana Rocher[4]. The outside is a crispy chocolate and nut shell, and the inside is a banana cream filling. The upstairs is a smoking area, but there's no door to separate it, so the smoke drifts straight down to the non-smoking area downstairs. If you sit there for a while, you'll get dizzy from all the secondhand smoke, Anjay! For friends who are sensitive to smoke, you should really think twice about this.
The service can be hit-or-miss too. Sometimes the staff are just Nongkrong and chatting among themselves, and they might not pay attention to the customers[6]. Also, while the sandwich is delicious, it's actually only half a portion[7], so guys might not find it filling enough.
