Anjay, Girls! Finding this place in Batam almost got me completely lost… I followed the GPS to the location, but there was nothing there, just a pitch-black staircase hidden on the side of the building[1]. If my friend hadn't pulled me along, I would've thought it was the entrance to some secret organization and almost turned back on the spot!
But once we pushed the door open, wow, it was a whole different world inside! The vibe inside is super Chill, the music taste is great, not like those obnoxiously loud influencer-type cafes[2]. There are lots of good photo spots in the corners, the lighting is just right, and it's just so comfortable to come here to Nongkrong at night.
We ordered a few of their signature items, and take my word for it, you have to try the Salted Caramel Bika[3]! The pandan cake is so chewy and bouncy, paired with ice cream and crunchy bits, the layers of texture are incredible, Mantap! For coffee, I chose the Butterscotch Sea Salt Latte[4], the sweet and salty flavor was totally on point. They also have Korean bingsu, the Strawberry Crispy Bingsu[5] looks good, I'll have to try it next time.
But I have to be honest. The Strawberry Citrus[6] specialty drink my friend ordered was a bit of a miss, it was sickeningly sweet. Also, the desserts aren't cheap, and you might occasionally run into a situation where the waiter misses an order or brings the wrong dish[7], so it's best to keep track of your order yourself.
