Under $2 & a 2-hour queue! Is Indonesia's viral Mie Gacoan god-tier or a trap?

The noodles were soft and chewy, soaked in a rich sauce where sweet, spicy, and savory flavors intertwined—so addictive! For a side dish, you have to try the Udang Keju (cheese shrimp dumplings)[3]. The outside is fried to a golden crisp, and when you bite into it, the melted cheese and bouncy shrimp meat explode in your mouth, Mantap! But to be honest, the portion size is a bit awkward—it's at that "one portion isn't enough, but two is too much" level[4].

Don't expect the atmosphere to be very Chill. The whole restaurant is basically a massive Nongkrong spot for young people, so lively that you basically have to shout to be heard[5]. But strangely, this bustling vibe actually makes you feel quite relaxed.

But, let's be real for a second. The service at this place was really not great. At the one I went to, the girl at the cashier had a poker face the whole time, like I owed her a million bucks[6]. Being popular is no excuse for being so arrogant, right?

💰 Price: Insanely cheap! Noodles start at 9k IDR, and drinks from 5k[7]. Two people can eat until they're stuffed for less than 25 RMB. What more could you ask for?
