I spent 1.5M to lounge at Atlas for a day... and I gotta be honest.
Curious about Atlas, Bali's massive new beach club? This honest review details what a 1.5M day there is really like. Despite a rocky start with a long wait, the experience is redeemed by top-notch facilities, a ridiculously huge pool, and unbeatable sunset views over Berawa Beach. Discover if the impressive atmosphere and photogenic setting are worth the price tag for the ultimate day club experience in Canggu.
Just got back from Atlas, which claims to be the "biggest in Bali," and I'm still crashed on the sofa, but I have to type this up and report back to you guys right away!
The scene at the entrance is seriously impressive; it feels like it's taken over the entire Canggu beach. But don't get too excited just yet. The Daybed I booked a few days in advance, when I got there, they actually told me I had to wait an hour?! Anjay… My blood pressure shot up right then and there. Luckily... the experience that followed was worth the wait, I guess?
Fully Immersive, The Facilities are Top-Notch
Once we finally got to lie down, the feeling was... Mantap! 😎 The pool is ridiculously huge, the view is unbeatable, directly facing the sunset over Berawa Beach, and any casual photo looks like a professional shot. The music taste is on point, not too loud, so you can actually have a normal conversation with friends[1], which is much better than many other places.
What surprised me the most were its amenities. The showers and restrooms are as clean as a five-star hotel, and they even provide a full set of L'Occitane toiletries, Dyson hair dryers, and mouthwash[2]. It's an absolute lifesaver for those of us with late-night flights! Spending the whole day here, taking a hot shower after a swim, and then heading to the airport all refreshed—perfect!
As for the drinks, we ordered their signature Pina Colada served in a coconut shell[3]. It's super photogenic, and the flavor is rich too. When it comes to atmosphere, Atlas has really nailed it.
The Luxury is Real, But So is the Chaos
Okay, enough with the praise, time for some real talk. No matter how good the hardware is, it's useless if the software (service) can't keep up.
The Daybed we chose for two people had a minimum spend of 1.5 million Indonesian Rupiah[4], which isn't cheap, so naturally, our expectations for the service and food were higher. But as it turned out... our Pad Thai and Char Kway Teow took almost an hour to arrive, and when they did, they were lukewarm. It felt like the kitchen had made them long ago and just forgot to send them out[5]. 😮💨
And the staff are really hard to find! It feels like they're severely understaffed; waving for ages with no one responding is the norm[6]. Although most of the guys were friendly, that chaotic management... tsk tsk, it really needs improvement.
Let Me Break Down the Key Points for You ✍️
After all that, is it worth going? My advice is: it depends on what you're looking for.
- How to choose your spot? If you plan to go, you absolutely must book a Daybed on their official website in advance! Especially if you want a good spot for the sunset, otherwise, you'll just be left to Nongkrong while standing[7].
- What time to go? If you want to take photos in peace, I suggest arriving before 3 PM. It's less crowded, more comfortable, and a good time to Chill. After 3 PM, it gets more and more crowded, instantly turning into a massive pool party[4].
- How to save money? If you just want to check in and look around, just buy the 100,000 IDR entrance ticket. It even comes with a free drink, so it's a pretty good value[2]. Also, you can ask if your hotel has a partnership with them; some of your spending might be deductible[8]!
- Who is it for? This place is quite interesting; you'll see families with kids having a family day as well as groups of hot guys and girls[9]. If you're looking for a spacious place with new facilities where you can also bring kids to play in the water, Atlas is a definite winner. But if you're a pure Party Animal looking for a super high-energy scene, then Finns next door might be a better fit for you.
