The Cikajang area in South Jakarta is where the titans clash, but every time I passed by number 74, I was so curious about this little retro building. Today, I finally went in to check it out. Wow, stepping inside felt like being transported to a cozy European alley, instantly shutting out the hustle and bustle from the street outside.
Ambiance and Food, All in One Go
This place is actually a food sharing space (Food Court) called Oma Huis, but it's not the noisy, chaotic kind you might be imagining. The whole space is semi-open. There's no air conditioning, but the air circulation is great, and with old nostalgic songs playing, it's super chill. Every corner is super photogenic. A casual snap can look like a retro masterpiece, and it's absolutely stunning when the lighting is good[1].

I went straight for Oma Cakalang on the first floor. Their signature Nasi Kuning Oma[2] is truly Mantap! The yellow rice is fragrant, sticky, and flavorful, served with shredded smoked fish. The portion isn't huge, but it's just right for brunch.
My friend ordered a Burger[3] from Burnt on the second floor. It was huge, the patty was juicy, and the taste was on point. I also spotted Abadi Noodle[4]. I heard their"mie karet" is one of the best in South Jakarta, so it's already on my list for next time!

Although the vibe is a 10/10, I have to be frank.
First, since it's a collection of multiple tenants, the food quality can be a bit inconsistent[6], so you need to choose carefully. Some items, like the burgers and smoothies, are indeed on the pricey side, which might hurt your wallet a little.
Secondly, there are some definite drawbacks with the facilities. There's only one restroom[7] for the entire place, and the queue during peak hours is seriously Anjay... Also, the spiral staircase to the second floor is extremely narrow[8]. Girls wearing long skirts or high heels, please be extra careful going up and down!
