Padang Students' Secret Spot! Why Is This Cafe Always Packed?

Every time I pass by the area near Andalas University (Unand), I'm always curious what kind of magic this place called Parewa Coffee has. From afternoon to evening, it's always packed with people, full of young faces just Nongkrong inside.[1] Anjay, today I finally couldn't resist and had to check it out myself!

The moment I walked in, I got it. The vibe is so Chill![2] The indoor area has air conditioning and a very iconic design; it feels like every corner is super photogenic. There's outdoor seating too, which is really comfortable when the weather is nice. The biggest surprise was that the shop actually provides free books to read, which is basically a paradise for students. I struggled for a long time when ordering and finally chose the specialty recommended by the staff, a coffee called Kopi dengan extract wine[3]. Don't worry, it's Halal! It has this wonderful fruity aroma when you drink it, like a non-alcoholic version of a special red wine drink, super unique! The Kopi cranberry[4] my friend ordered was also great; girls who like sweet and sour flavors will love it. The baristas here really put their heart into the drinks, the taste is so Mantap![5]

But, to be honest, I have to say something real. The drinks are a perfect 10, but the food is... well. We ordered a plate of fried noodles, and it felt like they went a bit heavy on the MSG. The flavor was on the salty side[6], and I was chugging water after finishing it. For my girls who want to come for a full meal, you might want to lower your expectations. This is a better place for drinking coffee and just focusing on being Chill.
