It’s the ultimate chill-out spot for watching the waves in peace, away from the party scene.
Friends, who gets it? The moment someone mentions Melasti Beach in southern Bali, all I can picture is crowds, crowds, crowds... But this time, I'm a total convert! 🤦♀️
I stumbled into this place, Uma Beach House, which just opened a year ago, and my first impression was: what a vibe! Turns out it's under the Hilton group, which explains why the service and aesthetics are on point. There are no huge crowds of party people here; the whole vibe is a sophisticated and relaxed Chill atmosphere, basically a paradise for introverts to watch the sea.
For Those All About the Vibe 🌅
The moment I walked in, I was totally won over by the infinity pool and the direct access to a private beach—no more climbing leg-breaking stairs down a cliff! The whole place has these comfy pink and natural wood tones, paired with the staff's stylish uniforms, making every shot Instagram-worthy[1].
The absolute best part was in the evening, as the sun started to set, a saxophonist stood right in the pool and began to play[2]. That scene... Anjay! Golden light shimmering on the sea, a cocktail in hand—I felt like my whole life was elevated. The music wasn't loud, just the perfect background sound, so ideal for Nongkrong with friends or a romantic date.
We ordered the Poke bowl and oysters, and both were super fresh. Especially the oysters, paired with sparkling wine, just Mantap! [3] You basically can't go wrong with the drinks and cocktails; even if you order randomly, they're all delicious.
Some Real Talk (A Guide to Avoiding Pitfalls)
Alright, let's talk specifics. This beauty comes at a price 💸. The minimum spend for a daybed to lounge on is 1.8 million Indonesian Rupiah[4], and while it can be credited towards food and drinks, the food portions are honestly not that big.
Especially the seafood platter that many people have complained about[5]. For 550k Rupiah, you get a tiny portion that feels like an appetizer for one. Friends who want to get full should just skip it. Overall, reviews on the food's taste are very polarized—some love it to death, others complain—so don't set your expectations too high. Treat it as a place for drinks with a view, and you'll have a much better mindset.
